Shimla Sarahan Sangla Sarchu Leh Jeep Tour

This Jeep safari takes you from the picturesque hill resort of Shimla through the verdant valleys of Rampur and Kinnaur into the hi-altitude desert regions of Spiti and Leh.

Route: Shimla - Sarahan - Sangla - Chitkul - Nako - Kaza - Jispa - Sarchu - Leh

Day 1: Shimla - Sarahan

We drive through the picturesque Shimla Mis down into the Sutlej Valley. The Hindustan-Tibet road is one of the oldest routes, which traders use to take into Tibet. Check into the Tourism hotel.

Day 2: Sarahan - Sangla

Driving along the Hindustan-Tibet road we take a right into the Baspa River valley, also known as Sangla. Reaching Sangla we camp overnight at the Banjara campsite.

Day 3: Sangla - Chitkul

We drive along the Baspa River Valley to the last village of Chitkul, which borders the state of Uttaranchal. We return to Sangla by evening.

Day 4: Sangla - Nako

Driving along the banks of the river Sutlej we take a diversion into the quaint little village of Nako with its emerald green lake. O/N hotel.

Day 5: Nako - Kaza

Driving on the Hindustan-Tibet road we continue on to thousand-year-old Tabo where we stop for a brief visit. From here we head on to the district capital of Spiti - Kaza. Check in to a guesthouse.

Day 6: Kaza - Jispa

After crossing a spectacular gorge we climb towards the Kunzum-la Pass and descend into the Lahaul valley. The drive takes us along the Chandra River. The Lahaul valley is now heavily forested and after crossing the Tandi Bridge the confluence of the Chandra and Bhagha rivers we turn north towards the Keylong, the district capital of Lahaul - Spiti and head for the small hamlet of Jispa on the banks of the river Bhagha. O/N guesthouse.

Day 7: Jispa - Sarchu

Now the national highway to Leh goes over the Baralacha and Lachu lung la Passes and seven Gete loops to the camping site at Sarchu. You get extensive views of Zanskar and Ladakh mountain ranges. O/N camp.

Day 8: Sarchu - Leh

The road goes through the 45 kms long Kyangshu plain up to the Tang lung la pass and descends down to the Indus Valley. Crossing the small villages of Rumtse we drive along the Indus River up to the final destination Leh. Check in at the hotel.
